Knowing what's coming and stopping it are two entirely different things. I've heard from at least one source that she makes many of the day to day decisions in Hyrule so she's obviously very busy.
well, i know this is just a simple joke but i got to say. you need to realize that they're different princess for each game (different people) and in each story, it's very understandable (or at least that's my opinion....... it really depends on the game) and i think princess zelda has been evolving as a character with each games.
Well, it is pretty obvious why actually. 1: The villain is often also wise. Ganondorf had made Link and Zelda a key to his success. When Sheik pretended to work for him, he already knew that Sheik was Zelda, and had feigned ignorance until the right moment. 2: She cares about her kingdom more than her own life. She often sacrifices herself to save her people however she can. The enemy was too strong to stop by herself, so capture was often inevitable. She could only make sure that something was done to create a chance for the hero to defeat the evil being. Zant had the upper hand. If she refused to surrender, then her people would die. 3: Point of the game. Why bother going after the evil king if he is far from his goal? The triforce of wisdom, and wisdom itself does not automatically make her a goddess. After all, the smart thing to do was to destroy all of Hyrule to ensure the evil entities would never be able to conquer it. But that would mean EVERYBODY would be sacrificed.
However, an exception is the princess in Spirit Tracks. That incarnation of Zelda is a complete idiot.
